Enjoying more than 60 years in the business Stuart has seen continued success in television, theatre and music. Stuart first came to Australia in 1958 to appear in the JC Williamson production, Not in the Book, and then in 1959 to perform in the original production of My Fair Lady. After a 3 year stint in Hollywood, working in film and television he returned to Australia in 1975 and was immediately kept busy with TV appearances, including being a regular panelist on Nine Network's Celebrity Squares, then spending two years as a permanent panelist on Network Ten's Blankety Blanks, plus seven seasons as the host/presenter on the ABC's Stuart Wagstaff's World Playhouse. Stuart was awarded Best Supporting Actor Short Film at the New York Independent Film & Video Festival 2005 for his performance in the Australian short film Chess Set. During 2006 Stuart was involved in a number of tributes for his esteemed colleague Graham Kennedy as well as being an integral part in the TV Turns 50 celebrations.
