Charlotte departed for Kenya in 2007 working for the association African Leaf Inc. which originated in Byron Bay to support orphaned, abandoned, vulnerable and abused children. She has now established, upon a short return to Australia, her own foundation known as Harambee which will aid in raising money and obtaining funding to assist the Kenyan women and their community. The Harambee Foundation is a registered Australian non-profit organisation assisting with supporting and advancing Kenyan women’s and children’s human rights. The foundation supports grass roots initiatives throughout the slums and the rural sectors of Kenya. Charlotte is writing her story of her life in Kenya for Harper Collins.
