Osher Günsberg announced as director on SANE Australia’s board, supports Schizophrenia Awareness Week

Osher Günsberg has joined the board of SANE Australia as a director, in an effort to help change attitudes in our society about complex mental illness.

To coincide with Schizophrenia Awareness Week (14-20 May), Osher has penned a piece about his own personal experiences with mental health. While Günsberg himself doesn’t have Schizophrenia, but does live with a diagnosis of anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), he knows all too well the impact of stigma attached to complex mental illness, and its role in preventing people getting the help they need.

Günsberg also interviewed Dr Mark Cross, psychiatrist, author, television presenter and fellow board member of SANE Australia on The Osher Günsberg Podcast. A second podcast will be released next week with guest Jack Heath, CEO of SANE Australia.
